about

'Journal, Parts I and II' is a lossy transmission channel between then and now. Between us. Its torn pages with their faded words leave us to fill in the details. And maybe, in doing so, we'll connect with the past—or even each other.

'Journal' consists of excerpts from various solo recording sessions throughout the winter of 2017. During those few months inbetween band projects, I tried to reconnect with and expand upon my earlier musical output from around 2010. This double album documents that creative process while also working as a sort of musical diary of that time: All the improvised pieces and the different, sometimes revisited ideas at their core each capture unique moments and feelings that are only fragmentarily preserved by these recordings.

The album download provides an 8-page digital booklet including bonus photography as well as the complete print-ready artwork for a 2xLP vinyl gatefold package. So, if anybody would like to own 'Journal' in a physical format, feel free to use the provided data as you wish—CDs, vinyl, whatever! In terms of sustainability, however, I'd personally recommend downloading the album once and listening to it using those files.
